Instead of their annual Christmas concert, The Hertfordshire Showband are staging two concerts this year!
The first will be a relaxed ‘Summer Picnic Concert’ to be held in the secluded glade known as the ‘Headmaster’s Lawn’ in Mount Grace School, on Sunday 20th July at 3pm. Surrounded by trees and bushes, the lawn creates a perfect amphitheatre for a concert, with plenty of space for the audience to spread out their picnic blankets or garden chairs.
To supplement or instead of bringing picnic food there will also be a BBQ. Wash the food down with a glass of wine, beer or a soft drink from the ‘Beer Tent’, then sit back and listen to the sounds of summer! In fact the 50 strong band will play popular music including pop, jazz and swing, as well as show and film music. Nothing too heavy, though some drama perhaps with a couple of John Williams epic compositions!
Tickets at just £5 will be on sale ‘on the door’, under 14’s enter free of charge. If wet the concert will go ahead in the main school hall, where they will endeavour to create a summer atmosphere! Access to the concert will be via the entrance in Mount Grace Road, with parking on the school playground.
